Steve "Sausage" Porter hails from the traditional scooterist destination of Great Yarmouth. He has been into scooters all his life, building up a reputation as a quality mechanic along the way.  Actively involved in the local scooter scene and regular Rally attendee, it is fair to say that for him it really is a way of life............ here is what he had to say.......

" I have been riding and fixing scooter for over 20 years now, what started as a hobby has now become my livelyhood and what some may call an obession with me. I am currently employed by A.E.S Scooters in Norwich.

Over the years I have owned many different models of both Lambrettas and Vespas, everything from a Lambretta Model D to an SX200 and a Vespa Rod Model to a Rally 200. My favourite models would have to be the Series 1 and 2 Lambrettas, and the Mk 1 P200 Vespa. The only scooter I havent managed to own yet and one I would really like is a TV 175 series 2.

Over the past few years as well as the mechanical and restoration side of scooters, I have started to branch out into frame modifications under the name of Wildthing and engine tuning under the name of Sausagespeed and have had a few of them featured in 'Scootering' (two Vespa engined and an auto engined Lambretta). I am also working on a project for a friend at the moment that if it all comes together will certainly turn a few heads but that is as much as i can say about it at this time.

In the past I have tried my hand at scooter grass tracking and found I was pretty useless at it , but must say they were great days out and am glad I had a go."
